Onyx FR is designed for use in applications where parts must be non-flammable. It is a flame retardant variety of Onyx. It is considered to be V-0 (self-extinguishing) for thicknesses of 3 mm and greater. It can be reinforced with any continuous fiber and is compatible with industrial composite 3D printers.
Onyx FR-A provides material traceability and meets the test values required for qualification under 14 CFR 25.853 for most 3D printable parts.
It is a material developed taking into account the requirements of sectors such as aviation and space, transportation and automotive. Parts produced with Onyx FR-A, a high-performance material approved for aviation, are much more accessible for aircraft interiors than parts produced with traditional production methods. There are certificates of suitability for use in these sectors.
