Carbon Fiber FR & FR-A
Carbon Fiber FR is a flame-retardant variant of Markforged's unique, ultra-high-strength continuous carbon fiber.
When used to reinforce a composite base material such as Onyx FR, it can produce parts as strong as 6061-T6 Aluminum. It is extremely hard and strong. It can be placed into the part in a wide variety of geometries.
It is a material developed taking into account the requirements of sectors such as aviation and space, transportation and automotive. Parts produced with Carbon fiber FR-A, one of the high-performance materials approved for aviation, are much more accessible for aircraft interiors than parts produced with traditional production methods. There are certificates of suitability for use in these sectors.
